Sponsoring the Bolivian Pastors Fast

 We would like you to consider ‘sponsoring’ the Bolivian Pastors in the Fast. We are asking you to ‘sponsor’ us for $0.50/hr, or $1, $2 or $5/hour for the 40hours of the Fast. Donations go to the Bolivian Pastor’s Endowment Fund General Advance number 30210591. (This permanent Fund sends all of its income to help pay for the salaries of Bolivian Methodist Pastors.) And while the funds are shared by all of the pastors, you will be able to donate in ‘honor’ of a particular Bolivian Methodist pastor whom you know and love. All donations will be matched by the Woodworth Estates Committee, doubling the impact of your donation.

You also may, or may not, choose to to use this Fast as an opportunity to help us raise funds for the Bolivian Pastors Endowment Fund from others by asking people to ‘sponsor’ your fast.  We don’t want the fund-raising possibilities to detract from the more important spiritual exercise. However, if you would like to do this. It will be deeply appreciated.

Register to Fast. If you are getting sponsors, please put a little note in the “Why are you Fasting” box saying stating that you are going ask for sponsors.

Once you’ve finished registering, we’ll create a profile page for you to send your friends, family and co-workers to. They’ll see your name, your smiling face, your reason for fasting, and be able to sponsor you through your PayPal donation button. All of your donations are tracked, so we can let you know how much you’ve raised at the end of the campaign, and credit your local church for the contribution, if you wish. You can also raise the funds in “honor” of a particular Bolivian Methodist pastor if you choose.

Full-time Bolivian Methodist Deacons and Pastors live on between $150-$420/month depending upon education and seniority. Clergy families go without education for their children, new clothes, health insurance, retirement or vacations and never eat out. The sacrifices they make are tremendous.

Please seriously consider utilizing your Fast as a way to improve the lives of the Bolivian Methodist Pastors who live on the edge of poverty and hunger every day.
